Terbufos

IUPAC Name: tert-butylsulfanylmethylsulfanyl-diethoxy-sulfanylidene-λ^5-phosphane

Summary: Terbufos is a member of the organophosphates. It has a low solubility in water at 5.07 mg/L at 25 C. Upon decomposition it produces toxic fumes of sulfur oxides and phosphorous oxides. It’s primary use is as an insecticide. If a pesticide contains more than 15% of terbufos is must be classified as a Restricted Use Pesticide (RUP).
