Summary: Perfluorohexanesulfonic acid is used in the synthesis of organic compounds containing fluorine. It had former uses in firefighting foam, and as a stain and water repellent. It is a member of the PFAS. It is soluble in water up to 6.2 mg/L and has a density of 1.841 g/mL at 25 C. It has an acid dissociation constant of 0.14. It exists in the vapor-phase in the atmosphere with a half-life of 115 days. A Koc value of 9.3 indicates it will have very high mobility in soil.
