Summary: Carbofuran is a carbamate pesticide. It is soluble in water up to 351 mg/L at 25 C and has a density of 1.180 g/mL. Upon decomposition it will produce gaseous nitrogen oxides. Koc values ranging from 7.3 to 123 predict that Carbofuran will have high mobility within soil. Hydrolysis and biodegradation are expected to bet the main methods of natural removal from soil, while photolysis is important for water degradation. Bioaccumulation within organisms is expected to be high.
