Summary: Terbuthylazine (TBA) is a chlorotriazine that is used as a pesticide. It also has uses in industrial water cooling systems and in laboratories as an analytical standard. It is soluble in water up to 9 mg/L at 25 C and has a density of 1.122 g/mL at 20 C. Upon decomposition it produces gaseous hydrogen chloride and nitrogen oxides which may be toxic to inhale. It has a pKa value of 2.0.
