Summary: Simazine is used as a pesticide. It is a member of the triazine herbicides. It is soluble in water up to 6.2 mg/L at 20 C and has a density of 1.33 g/mL at 22 C. It has an acid dissociation constant of pKa = 1.62 at 20 C. A wide range of Koc values from 78 – 3559 indicate low to high mobility. Biodegradation and hydrolysis are expected to be major fate processes in water.
