Summary: Perfluoroheptanoic acid (PFHPA) is a member of the PFAS. It has uses as a surfactant and is used to prevent stains and repel water. It may also be used to create anti-stick surfaces. It is soluble in water up to 3.65 mg/L at 25 C and has a density of 1.792 g/mL at 20 C. It has an acid dissociation constant of -2.29. Exists in the vapor-phase in the atmosphere with a half-life of 31 days. Biodegradation from water may occur under special conditions with a half-life ranging from 497 – 546 days.
