Summary: Metolachlor is an organochlorine compound used as an herbicide. It occurs as a derivative of aniline. It occurs as a colorless liquid at room temperature and has a density of 1.12 g/mL. It is soluble in water up to 530 mg/L at 20 C. A wide range of Koc values from 22 – 2,230 indicate low to high mobility within soil. Photolysis from water and soil is expected to be a major fate process. Metolachlor ESA, and Metolachlor OA are environmental transformation products.
