It has a solubility in water of 143 mg/L at 20 C and a density of 1.2076 g/mL at 20 C. Upon decomposition it produces carbon/sulfur/phosphorus oxides. It is corrosive to some metals and plastics. Koc values ranging from 927 – 17,620 indicate malathion will have very little mobility within soil.
