Summary: Diuron is an organic compound used as an herbicide to control weeds, plants, and grasses. It is also used in formulations of products that remove algae from fish tanks. It is soluble in water between 37.4 – 42 mg/L at 25 C and has a density of 1.48 g/mL. Koc values ranging from 55.3 – 962 indicate low to high mobility within soil. Biodegradation is expected to be a major fate process in water. Diuron has environmental transformation products such as DCA, DCPMU, and DCPU.
