Summary: Acetochlor is a monocarboxylic acid used primarily as an herbicide. It is soluble in water up to 233 mg/L at 25 C and has a density of 1.136 g/mL at 20 C. Koc values ranging from 98.5 – 335 predict moderate mobility within soil. Photolysis and biodegradation are expected to be major fate processes in soil and water. Environmental degradation products include Acetochlor ESA and Acetochlor OA. Bioaccumulation in organisms is expected to be high.
